As federal election campaigning gets underway, an Abacus Data poll suggests that Canadians are far less concerned about transit than they are about the cost of living, healthcare and climate change.
Yet each of these “top 3” issues is directly connected to government policy decisions that influence personal and business transportation choices.
To ensure that voters are aware of these connections when they enter the ballot box, Transport Futures has invited candidates from the Liberals, Conservatives, New Democrats, Greens and People’s Party to debate their respective transport strategies as they pertain to road, transit, rail, airport and marine infrastructure as well as related equity, safety, technology, environmental, funding, governance and leadership issues. Ben Spurr, transportation reporter for the Toronto Star, will be moderating the debate and audience Q&A.
Seating is limited and regular rates end on September 15 so register today! For further information, please visit www.transportfutures.ca/election or email [email protected].
