Tackling Textile Waste in the Time of Covid-19

Join us May 20th to discuss how COVID-19 is exacerbating fashion’s waste problem, and exploring what solutions are available.

About this Event

These FREE sessions on MAY 20TH are hosted by the Ontario Textile Diversion Collaborative (OTDC) and Fashion Takes Action. They will provide thought provoking and insightful perspectives on the topic of textile waste as a result of COVID-19. Space is limited for each webinar so be sure to sign up today.

Session One:

1:00pm EST – Moderated by Sabine Weber, we will hear from Goodwill Industries, Value Village and Kidney Foundation on how the pandemic has impacted thrift retail, the local and global second hand markets, charitable donations and social programs.

Session Two:

3:00pm EST – Moderated by Kelly Drennan, the discussion will shift to excess inventory (both new and used) as a result of cancellations, reduced consumption and border closings. Bank & Vogue and Queen of Raw will provide their insight into these issues, and some solutions that are available for brands struggling to keep this waste out of the landfill.
