Migrant Justice Workshop for Climate Activists!
The forces that scapegoat migrants and displace communities through war and economic exploitation are also the very same forces that deny climate change while bankrolling fossil fuel projects. This federal election, we will be seeing the 1% increasingly relying on racism and anti-immigrant rhetoric, as it attempts to divide us and weaken our movement for climate justice. Let’s make sure we are united against racism and xenophobia!
Join us on Friday July 19th from 6-8:30 PM for a migrant justice workshop that will equip climate activists with the analytical and practical tools to fight for migrant justice and climate justice, side-by-side as a part of the same struggle. Afterwards, we will be heading to an informal dinner together to mingle!
Together we will learn how to:
* lead conversations with our friends, activists, colleagues about migrant rights;
* share facts, and expose racist misconceptions about immigrants, migrant workers and refugees;
* be an effective part of a racial and migrant justice movement that situates it within the climate movement as well
