XR members have been requesting a social to meet each other and discuss next steps towards forming a new chapter. We are delivering! This is a great opportunity for members in Mississauga, Oakville and Branpton to join the conversation as well.

ABOUT EXTINCTION REBELLION
Extinction Rebellion Toronto is the Toronto chapter of the Extinction Rebellion movement. Extinction Rebellion is an international movement that uses non-violent civil disobedience to achieve radical change in order to minimize the risk of human extinction and ecological collapse. We have 3 demands.

EXTINCTION REBELLION’S KEY DEMANDS
1. Government must tell the truth by declaring a binding climate and ecological emergency, and by working with other institutions to communicate the urgency for change.
2. Government must act now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2025.
3. Government must create and be led by the decisions of a Citizens’ Assembly on climate and ecological justice.

(Our Solidarity Working Group is also working on a Fourth Demand focused on also telling the truth about Canada’s settler-colonial history)
