Economic (In)justice: Pandemic Profiteers and the Movements that Stop Them
COVID-19 is not affecting us all equally. Like any crisis, it is hitting poor, working class, and systemically marginalized folks the hardest, and creating opportunities for the further consolidation of wealth and power among some members of the elite. But there are growing movements proposing big solutions.
On Wednesday, May 13th, Resource Movement and Briarpatch Magazine will co-host a webinar that helps to pull back the veil on who’s making a profit off the pandemic – and the movements working to stop them.
The speakers:
- Simran Dhunna, Climate Justice Peel
- Thomas McKechnie, Justice for Foodora Couriers
- Ricardo Tranjan, Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives
- Representative, ACORN Canada
- Dave Gray-Donald, Resource Movement (Facilitator)
Accessibility information:
The panel will be streamed via Zoom. We will be taking live notes during the webinar, which all will be able to access. We are not able to offer ASL interpretation for this event. The discussion will be in English; and questions will be taken in both French and English.
