Ecological Grief Retreat: A pathway to resilience, self-care and earth-care

In the midst of concurrent global crises, a pandemic and a climate emergency, loss and grief, how do we respond with clear eyes and a wise heart?

In this retreat, we’ll hold space and guide you through a process for composting  pain, fear and anger into qualities that allow us to respond to the challenges of these times with care and integrity.

This weekend event is based on Joanna Macy’s Work that Reconnects, a series of practices to help us heal the sense of separation between humans and the greater body of earth and align with the self-healing powers of the web of life. Re-orienting ourselves in this way, we can transform despair and overwhelm into inspired action.

Combining education with soul-care, this retreat will be delivered through a combination of small group processes, personal reflection, meditations and other spiritual practices, nature connection, deep time work, movement, expressive art as well as practical applications for our lives and the world, beyond the event.

Bring your concerns, your fears, your grief, your love, your rage, your not knowing…

Retreat Schedule:

Friday, December 4th:  7 – 8:30 pm

Saturday, December 5th:  1 – 3 and 5-7 pm

Sunday, December 6th:  2-5:00 pm

Session times are for Eastern Standard Time and will not be recorded.  The schedule consists of the four online sessions, with assignments between the sessions on Saturday and between Saturday and Sunday.  The power of this work is in the group processes and connection.  We ask participants to plan to be at all of the live sessions.

Sliding Scale Pricing:  $250 – $60

What is sliding scale pricing and how does it work?

Sliding scale pricing provides a service or product with multiple price points. These price points are set to make the service or product accessible to people with different levels of income, so that financial resources need not be a barrier to a person’s ability to access a product or service. Community members can chose the price point that best reflects their ability pay for a product or service, based on their individual circumstances.

Our wish is to make this Retreat accessible to all who wish to participate and to support a modest livelihood for the facilitators out of our love for planet earth and the body of work upon which this Retreat is based.

Please be mindful that if you purchase a price at the lowest end of the scale when you can truthfully afford the higher ticket prices, you are limiting access to those who truly need the gift of financial flexibility. Being honest with yourself and your financial situation when engaging with sliding scale practices grows strong and sustainable communities.

If the lowest income price point is beyond your reach and you would like to participate in this retreat, an in-kind trade or scholarship is also available.

Enrollment is limited to 16 participants, with a commitment to participate in all sessions.
