Divestment Zap with Banking on a Better Future

Tonight at 7pm EDT, youth will lead the push in this virtual event, demanding that our financial and academic institutions divest from fossil fuels by calling and emailing banks and campuses across the country. Join Climate Reality Canada and Banking on a Better Future to learn more about divestment and how you can get involved in fighting the climate crisis! Training and scripts will be provided.

Evelyn Austin (she/her) is a climate justice and divestment organizer living and working in T’karonto/Toronto, on the traditional, ancestral lands of the Huron-Wendat, Mississaugas of the Credit, Chippewa, and Haudenosaunee. Her organizing work focuses on the financing behind fossil fuel expansion. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto, and currently she is the Project Manager of Banking on a Better Future, and a coordinator for the Divest Canada Coalition

Sam Lin (she/her) is a youth climate justice activist currently attending Queen’s University, on the unceded Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee territories. She has organized with youth-led groups such as Sustainabiliteens, Climate Strike Canada, and Banking on a Better Future, with an emphasis on tackling the climate crisis, mobilizing communities, and building a more just, equitable future for all.
