Blue Scarf Earth Day Rally

Come join the Blue Scarf Movement to learn and motivate action for the Innu People of Labrador in Eastern Canada, and motivate stopping the new Fighter Jets being purchased by our government.
The Innu People are being threatened with NATO’s Fighter Jets practice fields and training camps. They put pressure and pain on the people and the land, and as activists in Canada for peace and the environment we shall join them in the struggle to protect the land of the original peoples.
This event on April 23rd starting at 7pm will feature 2 books, Nutaui’s Cap which depicts a child’s coming to understand the situation and how her family stands up; and I Keep the Land Alive, of a journey to stop NATO’s low-level flying and bomb testing during the 80’s and 90’s. Both these books were written and based on one woman’s mission, her name is Elizabeth Penashue. We will feature readings from both books, and some personal reflections from the Innu People directly affected. We will also hear from Tamara Lorincz as a special guest who will be giving us important information on how the Fighter Jets impact the environment wherever they are flown. And how their emission of CO2 prevents the world from reaching the goal of 0 emissions by 2050. At the end, we welcome you to stay to experience an energizing, releasing, and motivational live DJ Performance brought to you by SheCycle and DJ Kiish.
