Let’s cherish our shared #waters, #nature and #Canada’s 1st national urban park – home of our drinking water, breathtaking natural beauty and ecosystem services, diverse wildlife (including species at risk), and over 10,000 years of rich human history.
Together, our #RougeNUP #ShorelineCleanup direct-action #conservation and #stewardship will help make our shared waters and environment healthy and sustainable, reduce pollution’s threat to wildlife and human health, and leave a positive #Canadian legacy with a positive ripple effects globally as the #RougeRiver flows to #LakeOntario, the #oceans, and our shared world.
As we cherish the Rouge, we acknowledge, honour, and thank the #Indigenous Peoples of Canada of whom this region is their traditional territory, including the Rouge National Urban Park First Nations Advisory Council, Mississaugas of New Credit First Nation, the Haudenosaunee, the Anishinaabe, the Huron-Wendat, and home to many diverse #IndigenousPeoples. Chi-miigwech!
