Getting to “yes in my backyard” on clean energy projects
In March 2026, Re.Climate shared four pillars of public support for clean energy projects from our national research: 1) explain why a project is needed, 2) deliver on fairness, 3) offer community benefits, and 4) address household concerns.
Now we’re taking a closer look at how support changes across different Canadian audiences.
Drawing on a survey of more than 4,000 Canadians and focus groups in Nova Scotia and Ontario, this webinars explores how each of the Five Canadas audience segments responds to wind and electricity projects, particularly as those projects move from proposals to reality.
You’ll learn which stories build support with each audience and which ones can backfire; which community benefits matter most to each, from lower power bills to shared ownership, and why both the most supportive and most skeptical Canadians want a real say in project decisions.
