The Guidebook

As planners and designers, we are constantly involved in envisioning new neighborhoods.

The New Neighbourhoods guidebook is the result of a collaborative effort between Smart Density and the MUCP of School of Cities at the University of Toronto. It explored master-planned neighbourhoods from across the globe and looked back at neighbourhoods that began as ambitious visions and studies how they’ve evolved into vibrant, sustainable communities.

Our goal is to inspire new approaches to neighbourhood planning here in the GTA and beyond, ensuring that our cities grow in ways that are resilient, people-centric, and future-proof.

We are here to celebrate the new neighbourhoods we featured in the exhibition by bringing together the brilliant minds behind them, for that – we are hosting a special series of conversations live from the exhibition venue!
