Climate Justice Peel: Meet & Greet
Last month, more than 150 Green New Deal town halls took place from coast to coast, with a few taking place in the suburbs of the GTA. We discussed everything from completely divesting from fossil fuels to decent jobs and public transit. It’s high time that Mississauga and Brampton—two of the three cities in the Peel region—began a climate justice movement of its own.
Climate Justice Toronto (CJTO) and its Our Time Toronto campaign has been active for about two months. We’ve had organizing meetings, petitioning canvasses, direct actions in solidarity with other climate groups, workshops and more.
But now we want to get our feet wet in Peel.
Join us for our first meet-and-greet over coffee on Monday July 15th from 6:00-8:00 PM at Second Cup (7700 Hurontario St, Brampton) to strategize on how we can build power and push for a GND in the suburbs.
