SUMMARY:Advancing Systems Change with Collective Impact
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nJoin us for this engaging two-part virtual workshop where we’ll dive into the mindset needed to create a successful Collective Impact Initiative that’s intentionally designed to drive systems change. Transforming systems is key to achieving lasting impact because it goes beyond addressing symptoms to alter the systems that keep complex problems in place. Lessons from practitioners will illustrate how and why it’s important to explicitly incorporate both programmatic AND systems-change strategies into your Collective Impact implementation plans.\nThis learning opportunity is for you if you want to deepen your knowledge about how to develop strategies to address the system barriers that are contributing to — or perpetuating — the very issues that our programs and services are intended to solve.  As participants, you will gain a solid understanding of Collective Impact in action and be introduced to tools and resources you can use to co-design a successful, systems-focused Collective Impact effort.\nImplementing the Collective Impact framework is NOT a recipe.  Adapting it to your specific issue and context is a MUST that requires skill and artful leadership.  The workshop’s highly interactive curriculum will deepen your understanding of what it means to change systems and how to bring a systems lens into your Collective Impact work.  Learners will be encouraged to share their own experiences and will leave with new ideas and resources to strengthen the ability to mobilize change at both a community and systems level.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorkshop Pre-Learning\nA 1-hour individual pre-learning exercise is designed to clarify your learning goals and identify the questions you hope to explore.\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTwo 3.5-Hour Virtual Workshops\n\nSession 1: Explore the Collective Impact framework and consider the shifts in thinking required to unleash its full potential.  Embrace the unique mindset that is needed to implement it well and understand why it is an effective approach for generating transformative change in communities and systems.\nSession 2:  Learn and apply tools to unite diverse stakeholders around a common, aspirational vision for change; identify systemic barriers; and co-develop strategies to address them.  Discover the power of linking local efforts to achieve systems-level impact.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n1-Hour Coaching Session\n\nA one-hour coaching session with fellow learners one month after the virtual workshop to further deepen and support your efforts to translate your learning into action.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis learning opportunity is designed specifically for those who:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLead the implementation or renewal of a Collective Impact Initiative\nWant to strengthen their ability to incorporate systems change into their Collective Impact work\nFacilitate or coach collaborations and Collective Impact initiatives\nGrow their capacity to generate greater impact at both the community and systems levels\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nMeet the Workshop Facilitator\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSylvia Cheuy\n\nSylvia is the Consulting Director of Collaboration in the Tamarack Institute’s Learning Centre.  She has spent more than 20 years as a changemaker and champions of multi-sector, resident-led change.  She is inspired by the capacity of communities to innovate and advance creative solutions through collaboration.\nSylvia is a skilled and seasoned community change facilitator who brings both practical knowledge and first-hand experience her work, which has included designing and delivering capacity-building sessions, both in person and virtually, to clients across North America as well as in Singapore, New Zealand, the United Kingdom.\nLearn more about Sylvia\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nPricing & Logistics\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration includes pre-workshop learning and access to the workshop itself.\nPost-workshop, participants will be invited to register for a post-event coaching session.
