DESCRIPTION:Did You Know:\n\nThe Portlands Gas plant is the largest source of harmful airborne Nitrogen Oxides in Toronto?\nIn 2023, the Portlands Gas Plant operated an average of 14 hours/day, despite previous government assurances that the plant was designed to be a “ peaker “ plant and run a maximum of four hours/day?\nIn the summer of 2023, the Portlands Gas Plant operated an average of 21 hours/day?\nThe Portlands Gas Plant single-handedly raised the city’s electricity-related greenhouse gas emissions by 10 percent in one year, making it challenging for the city to meet its climate protection targets?\n\nCome and learn more about the plant’s impacts on our community’s health and how we can work together to shut it down.
