To move forward on a national path that is sustainable, prosperous, equitable, and secure, we need a deliberate, multi-stakeholder approach that integrates climate, land-use, and economic action. This panel will speak to the work needed at the community level to build climate resilient and affordable housing, transition industries sustainably and equitably, modernize mobility infrastructure, and support Indigenous-led economic development. This panel will provide the audience with a starting set of actions to take back to Canada, shaping policy toolkits, driving funding, and reducing barriers to progress. With committed follow-through, the actions from this session will help to alleviate hardships felt by Canadians, and support communities in achieving our urgent climate goals. \nEn Français\nCe panel interactif présente des experts représentant les villes, de l’action climatique autochtone et de la société civile. Pour avancer sur une voie durable, prospère, équitable et sûre, nous avons besoin d’une approche délibérée et multipartite qui intègre le climat, la planification territoriale et l’action économique. Ce panel couvrira du travail nécessaire pour construire des logements abordables et résilients au climat, des industries en transition de manière durable et équitable, moderniser les infrastructures de mobilité et soutenir le développement dirigé par les peuples autochtones. Ce panel fournira un ensemble d’actions, en façonnant des politiques, en mobilisant du financement et en réduisant les obstacles au progrès. Les actions de cet évènement contribueront à atténuer les difficultés ressenties par les Canadiens et à aider les communautés à atteindre nos objectifs climatiques urgents. \n
