SUMMARY:The United Nations High-Level Political Forum and SDG Localization
DESCRIPTION:The High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) is an annual global check-in hosted by the United Nations to take stock on progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).\nThe HLPF is hosted in New York City at UN Headquarters each July and features national representatives presenting progress reports on their SDGs achievement to date. There are also hundreds of side events organized by civil society and special interest groups, making the HLPF a vibrant global gathering for anyone interested in the latest on the SDGs.\nJoin us for an exciting conversation with Mayor Berry Vrbanovic from the City of Kitchener, Elena Pierce from Environment and Climate Change Canada and others to learn more about how the localization of the SDGs figures into the global discussions happening at the HLPF. It’s clear that our cities and communities have a critically important role to play in achieving the SDGs, but what opportunities exist to engage at the global level and what types of discussions are being had?\nIn this session you will have the opportunity to do the following:\n\nHear the latest information about Canada’s commitments to the SDGs;\nLearn about upcoming opportunities for communities to share their SDGs progress at the United Nations;\nGain insights into how SDGs localization is helping advance the SDGs mandate around the world.\n\n \nSave Your Spot Now!\nDon’t miss this special public session of the SDG Localization Community of Practice! To save your spot for this event, fill out the form below. You’ll receive a separate email confirming your registration and sharing the Zoom link with you. You’ll also receive a reminder email one week, one day, and one hour before the live event.\n \nPlease note: This session will be held on Zoom and will be recorded.\n
