SUMMARY:All Together Now – CCL Canada’s Fall 2022 Gathering
DESCRIPTION:ALL TOGETHER NOW\nCCL Canada’s Fall 2022 Gathering with our provincial and federal parliamentarian, Drew Jones, MIT/Climate Interactive (CI)\nAGENDA – all times EDT\n11:00 am – welcome and land acknowledgements\n11:03-11:10 am – special opening.\n11:10 – 11:40 am – MIT/CI EnROADS presentation with parliamentarians asking the questions\n11:40 – 12:00 pm – break out rooms. Constituents with their own reps talk policy. Constituents with their own reps continue to explore EnROADS together. They don’t have to come back to plenary.\n12:30 pm – absolute hard finish. We know from the last time we did an event with parliamentarians, some of the breakout rooms stayed to the very end.\nDREW JONES\n“Andrew Jones is the Director and Co-Founder of Climate Interactive and a Research Affiliate at MIT Sloan School of Management. An expert on international climate and energy issues, he is a system dynamics modeler, keynote speaker, and designer of simulation-based learning environments.\nTrained in environmental engineering and system dynamics modeling through a B.A. at Dartmouth College and a M.S. in Technology and Policy at MIT, he worked in the 1990s at Rocky Mountain Institute and in the 2000s with Dana Meadows at Sustainability Institute. He teaches system dynamics at MIT Sloan and the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.”\nMIT/CLIMATE INTERACTIVE\nEn-ROADS is a global climate simulator that allows users to explore the impact of roughly 30 policies—such as electrifying transport, pricing carbon, and improving agricultural practices—on hundreds of factors like energy prices, temperature, air quality, and sea level rise.\nBACKGROUND\nIn April 2021, we met online with our provincial parliamentarians for a 30-minute education Zoom call followed by meetings in individual breakout rooms to lobby them. This time both provincial and federal parliamentarians are welcomed.\nCreating a Balanced Future – An online conference and lobbying day with our provincial parliamentarians ( https://canada.citizensclimatelobby.org/creating-a-balanced-future/ )\n\n
