SUMMARY:Climate Change Impacts On First Nations Communities
DESCRIPTION:Across Canada, climate change is eroding the health, culture and livelihoods of First Nations — and there is evidence that the worst is yet to come.\nThe webinar will explore how the Canadian government has failed to help First Nations adapt to climate change, and how this failure has led to a violation of their human rights. The discussion will also highlight how both federal and provincial authorities are not doing enough to hold big polluters accountable for climate pollution, and advance the policies needed to curb climate change.\nJoin guest speakers Sam Hunter, Weenusk First Nation, and Rachel LaFortune, Researcher, Environment & Human Rights, Human Rights Watch to learn more about the need for strengthened climate change adaptation measures in First Nations communities.\nRegister today to tune in for this live discussion! \nWebinar Details\nTopic: Climate Change Impacts on First Nations Communities\nDate: Thursday, April 7th, 2022\nTime: 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. (EDT)\n
