Learn about the global campaign for a Fossil Fuel Non Proliferation Treaty and about our campaign for Toronto to endorse the Treaty.\nSpeakers to include Tzeporah Berman, Chair, and Seble Samuel, Cities organizer from the international Campaign for a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty, Catherine Abreu, ED of Climate Action Network Canada and steering committee member for the FFNPT, Chloe Tse, Fridays for Future TO, and Lyn Adamson, ClimateFast\nThis Treaty is a big, bold idea calling for unprecedented international cooperation in 3 main areas:\nNon-Proliferation – ending all new exploration and production of fossil fuels\nGlobal Disarmament – phasing-out existing stockpiles in line with the 1.5ºC Paris goals\nA Peaceful Transition – fast-tracking a just transition for every worker, community and country\nThe concept of a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty is beginning to gain significant traction around the world. Already hundreds of groups around the world have endorsed the Treaty, including organisations such as 350.org, World Future Council and Friends of the Earth, individuals including Naomi Klein, Bill McKibben and Mary Robinson and 101 Nobel Laureates.\nOrganized by MobilizeTO, ClimateFast and other groups in the Toronto climate action community.\nIf your group wishes to endorse the campaign please go to fossilfueltreaty.org and sign on!\nIndividuals are also welcome to sign on.\nVancouver was the first city in Canada to endorse the campaign.
