Learn about their work as well as their personal journeys, learnings, and visions for the future.\nOn Thursday April 8th, Tonya Surman will sit down with Peter Deitz, co-founder of Grantbook and Unwrapit, to discuss Grantbook’s process of transitioning to an Employee Share Ownership Plan (ESOP) and what this looked like in practice.\nAbout our guest, Peter Deitz\nPeter Deitz is a successful serial entrepreneur committed to creating enduring companies that have a deeply-rooted social and environmental purpose. Peter co-founded Grantbook in 2012 and currently serves as Board Chair. Grantbook is a 25-person philanthropic advisory firm that helps foundations operationalize mission and vision by leveraging technology. Over the past two years, Peter championed and helped oversee the formation of Grantbook’s Employee Share Ownership Plan (ESOP). Peter currently serves as full-time co-founder of Unwrapit, a social purpose business that helps companies spark and maintain meaningful connections through a fun, innovative, and easy-to-use virtual gifting platform. Both Grantbook and Unwrapit were born out of the Centre for Social Innovation’s Annex location. Peter is based in Toronto, ON and is the proud father of two kids, two cats, and a cockapoo.\nAbout our host, Tonya Surman\nTonya Surman is fuelled by her belief in the power of collaboration and belonging. She knows that putting the right people in a room is only the first step in creating real change. You also need to build a culture where everyone knows that they have value and a voice to radically redesign our futures. She did this with the Centre for Social Innovation, which re-invented the workplace by collecting social purpose organizations under one roof. And it’s what she is doing with CSI’s affiliate charity, the Centre for Social Innovation Instituteand Social Innovation Canada,  unlocking the social innovation community to get at the root causes of problems.
