( https://youtu.be/rfoEQjuEb7Q )\nVisiting Scholar Professor Cheryl Teelucksingh, Victoria City Councillor Sharmarke Dubow and Canada’s Green Party Leader Annamie Paulfor a discussion of the varying impacts and effects of the climate crisis, climate change policy and energy costs on Black communities across Canada. Moderated by Senior Fellow Dr. Dianne Saxe.\n \nDr. Cheryl Teelucksingh is a Professor in the Sociology Department and a member of the Yeates School of Graduate Studies at Ryerson University.  Her numerous publications and funded research projects over the last twenty years have focused on examining the relationship between environmental justice in Canada and concerns for social inequality in the urban context. Dr. Teelucksingh current research explores how proponents and activists  of environmental justice can strategically and effectively implement smart city initiatives in Black spaces in Canadian cities. \nTwitter: @cateeluck \nSharmarke Dubow is a Somali Canadian politician and human rights advocate.
