DESCRIPTION:We are looking for volunteers to help both before and on the day of action. Don’t worry if you don’t have experience: training will be offered in advance of the event, including COVID safety training!\nWe are looking for Outreach Volunteers, General Sit-in Volunteers, and Marshals. A brief summary of each of these roles is included below. After registering, our volunteer coordinators will contact you with more information.\nWhat is Outreach Volunteering?\nBecause of COVID, leafleting sessions and coordinated poster runs will be curtailed. But we need volunteers to help poster in their neighbourhood. We can dropoff posters of different sizes to your neighbourhood – use our online poster order form. Put up Climate Strike posters around subway stations, busy intersections, as well as posting on utility poles, bulletin boards, and putting them up in store-front windows.\nWhat is a General Climate Strike Rally and March Volunteer?\nGeneral Volunteers would help with setup and cleanup, handing out hand sanitizer and masks, green circle pins and signing people up, electronically, to join future Fridays For Future Toronto events. We also need vehicles and drivers to help bring materials to and from the event.\nWhat is a Marshal?\nAdult and youth volunteers are needed as Marshals, to help manage the arrival and departure of people at the sit-in, monitor and ask people to comply with COVID safety measures to ensure the safety of participants.\nThe schedule for Marshals will be:\n11:00 – 12:00 : Briefing nearby location TBD\n12:00 – 3:00 : Sit-in\nOptional training for Marshals will be offered prior to the event, with details to follow.
