He has worked in Architecture and Engineering firms specializing in sustainability, building enclosures, and high-performance buildings. He is part of the High Performance Buildings team at WSP Canada and he is in charge of the thermal bridging analysis for projects targeting the Toronto Green Standard. He will share his experience of the recently finished Sammon Passive House in the Danforth, Toronto. This project was designed while he was working at Coolearth Architecture, and it might become the first deep energy retrofit detached house in Toronto and in Canada achieving ENERPHIT’s Passive House certification.\n \nMarcel Studer – Econ Group Ltd.\nMarcel is a principal of Econ Group Ltd, a Vancouver based design-built construction company, he holds a Masters Degree in Architecture from the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich (Switzerland). Marcel has lived and worked in Canada for the last 16 years in his capacity as a designer, builder and most recently as a teacher of Passive House Canada’s Trades Person Course.\nSince 2006 Marcel has been involved in various local Passive House projects covering design and construction while increasing his skills and knowledge in the fields of energy efficiency, building science and construction technology. He has been a board member of Passive House Canada since October 2014 holding the treasurer position.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
