In 2017, Halyna developed and oversaw the implementation of the Home Energy Savings Initiative (HESI) an eight-month project which educated residents on home energy conservation. Following HESI, Halyna worked with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority in administering the Harvest the Rain project, which is a home retrofit program for single-family homes in the Black Creek community. Halyna further led a series of consultations in partnership with colleagues at Transition Toronto which resulted in the creation of the GH6 project.
