Whether they are industry professionals, public servants or community members, whether they are running community workshops, lecturing in university classrooms or changing their homes, women are key to increasing the momentum towards a lower carbon world and making sure no one is left behind.\nAs a follow to our New Energy Economy women’s series, join our panel of standout Albertans in a webinar that explores the role of women in this changing energy economy:\n\nOPENING REMARKS: Linda Coady — Executive Director, Pembina Institute\nLinda Coady is the Pembina Institute’s new executive director, and has broad leadership experience in sustainable development across multiple sectors. She was previously chief sustainability officer for Enbridge Inc. and VP of sustainability for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games. She also served as chair of the federal government advisory committee on Indigenous Economic Participation in the Trans Mountain Pipeline and was a Distinguished Fellow of UBC’s Liu Institute on Global Issues. \nHOST: Laura Hughes — Senior Analyst, Pembina Institute\nLaura Hughes leads the Alberta Narratives Project, using climate change narratives that are effective in Alberta,  and also supports municipalities in their transitions to renewable energy. She holds a Master of Science in Environment and Resource Management.\n\n\n\nPANELLIST: Nagwan Al-Guneid — Communications Lead, Energy Futures Lab\nNagwan Al-Guneid is the communications lead for the Natural Step Canada and its Energy Futures Lab initiative. She holds a Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Development and co-leads the lab’s Energy.AI initiative. She is also the president of Ask Her YYC ( https://askheryyc.org/ ), a Calgary-based non-profit focused on increasing the number of women on Calgary’s City Council.\n\n\nPANELLIST: Sheena Wilson, PhD — Principal Investigator, Just Powers\nSheena Wilson is a Professor of Media, Communications, and Cultural Studies at the University of Alberta, and lead researcher of the Just Powers research initiative, which examines how to use an energy transition to create a more livable future for everyone.\n\n\nPANELLIST: Katie Smith — Executive Director, Young Women in Energy\nKatie Smith works at Spartan Controls, an automation solutions company in Western Canada, and is the executive director ofAlberta-based non-profit Young Women in Energy. She is currently completing a master in business administration in executive management from Royal Roads University.\n\n
