Jeremy Shute and his family are paddling re-furbished cedar canvas canoes downstream from Guelph’s Speed River as far as they can make it. Jeremy will talk about the waterways they are taking, some of the history, ecology and geography of the route, and will share stories and photos of the journey. He is doing the trip in sections, paddling from Guelph to Niagara falls in 2017, from the Niagara River to Rochester, NY in 2018, and from PIttsford, NY to Sackets Harbour in 2019. With three more sections to go, they plan to reach the Atlantic in the early 2020s. Jeremy will host a Q&A following his presentation.\nWHEN\nMay 14, 2020 at 7:30pm – 9pm\nWHERE\nOnline (Zoom)\n🐟 PLEASE RSVP at https://www.2riversfestival.org/speed_to_sea_paddling_from_guelph_to_the_atlantic_ocean to receive your Zoom invitation 🐟\nAll events are LGBTQ2+ inclusive, respectful, and welcoming.\n—\nABOUT OUR SPEAKER:\nJeremy is a local cartographer, geographer, musician, film maker and a partner in the environmental consulting firm Shared Value Solutions.
