SUMMARY:Climate Justice Toronto Goes to Labour Day!
DESCRIPTION:Join Climate Justice Toronto at the 2019 Labour Day Parade!\nWhen we say “migrant justice is climate justice,” they’re not just hollow words: it’s a call to action. This year, we are joining forces with the Migrant Rights Network to push back against the use of racism to divide and distract us from the real solutions we need.\nAnti-immigrant billboards are popping up across the country paid for by a rich mining CEO. Corporations are not only responsible for low wages and cuts to public services, but they’re also fuelling the climate crisis. Those very same corporations now want to distract and divide us with anti-migrant racism to seize power while denying climate change. Let’s fight white supremacy by showing up for migrants and racialized communities.\nJoin the CJTO contingent at this year’s Labour Day Parade at the south entrance of Trinity-Bellwoods Park (Queen St W & Strachan Ave) from 9:30 AM-12:30 PM, where we’ll be supporting the Migrant Rights Network and Fight for $15 & Fairness to flyer and talk to working people about fighting xenophobia. Do you pledge to #uniteagainstracism?\n***Access info***\nThere are accessible washrooms and free accessible parking spaces at the Trinity Community Recreation Centre (155 Crawford St) located in the park. The community centre is air-conditioned and has a ramp to the entrance with a powered exterior door opener. If you’re travelling by TTC, take the 501 Queen westbound from Osgoode station and get off at Strachan. Please message us if there’s anything we can do to make it easier for you to join!\n
