DESCRIPTION:Screening of James Balog’s documentary “The Human Element”\nPlease join us for another screening of the Toronto Climate Film Festival hosted by ClimateFast and Greenpeace Canada.\nDuring his four-decade career as a photographer and explorer, James Balog has focused his lens on the complex relationship between humans and nature. Human activity has now surpassed all other forces shaping our world. In an arresting new documentary from the producers of Racing Extinction, The Cove and Chasing Ice, environmental photographer James Balog captures the lives of people on the front lines of climate change. With rare compassion and heart, this film inspires us to re-evaluate our relationship with the natural world.\nThe screening will open with a short video documenting the impact of development on the Beaver Lake Cree nation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lG4-kjguKws.\nThe screening will be shown at the Jane Street Hub (Community Rooms 3 &4) on August 15 and will be followed by a Q&A.\nTickets are free and donations are gratefully accepted!
