SUMMARY:Home Efficiency Animator Training
DESCRIPTION:Applications for training close on Monday, June 10, at 11:59 p.m.\n\nHome Efficiency Animator Training (HEAT) is a two-day, 14-hour, no-cost, capacity building program focused on best practices in residential energy conservation.\nThe training is designed to help Toronto’s community and sustainability leaders to:\n\nbetter understand retrofit best-practices, including low-cost and deep-impact energy savings measures;\nunderstand and explain the greenhouse gas emissions reduction, energy, and economic benefits of energy upgrades;\nunderstand key concepts from Natural Resources Canada’s home energy efficiency learning outcomes; and\napply these concepts in their communities to increase energy efficiency and climate action engagement in Toronto.\n\nThe purpose of the training is to help accelerate greenhouse gas emissions reductions from Toronto’s residential homes by increasing community-wide conservation literacy and engagement. It is also an opportunity to connect with a network of fellow learners, professionals and change-makers focused on creating opportunities to drive energy efficiency and retrofitting with a focus on climate action. This training may be helpful to individuals looking to expand their skills and experience toward a career in climate action, sustainability, green building and/or building sciences.\nParticipants in the program will receive a certificate of participation from Humber College.\nTwo training sessions are available:\n\nOption 1: Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14\nOption 2: Monday, August 12 and Tuesday, August 13.\n\nYou must attend both days of the training session. Training will be held at Toronto City Hall (Queen St W. and Bay St).\nHEAT is a joint program of the City of Toronto, Humber College and Natural Resources Canada, and is being offered at no cost to participants, but there is limited capacity.\n
